Paris metro-M12

The Paris metro line 12 connects Porte de Chapelle to Mairie d'Issy with a north/ south-west direction.  The first terminus is located in 18th arrondissement of Paris whereas Mairie d'Issy is on the town of Issy-les-Moulineaux, in the suburb parisian (Hauts-de-Seine department).

The entire journey lasts around 36 minutes, for the two directions.

The first departure north/ south occurs at Porte de Chapelle at 5:30am, from south to north, there are two first departures, 1 from Porte de Versailles and the other one at Mairie d'Issy station, at 5:30am. 

The last departures for the two major terminus occur at 00:40am from Porte de la Chapelle and from 00:39 from Mairie d'Issy.
On some nights (friday-saturday, saturday-sunday and the night before holidays-holiday) the last departures, for the  whole journey, occur 1 hour later.

The frequency of the Paris metro line 12 depends on the hour and day.
For the week, the frequency is around 5-6 minutes before 7:30am and from 7:30am to 8:30pm, it's around 3-4 minutes and after 8:30pm, the frequency is 7-8 minutes.
The frequency is less for the weekend and can reach 10 minutes for the week-end nights (friday and saturday) and day before holidays nights.

Places to visit by the Paris metro line 12

The Abesses station allows you to take the funiculaire de Montmartre. If you plan to visit Paris by the metro line 12, you can stop at Solférino station, walk  and visit the Musée d'Orsay.

Paris metro-M10

The Paris metro line 10 connects Boulogne- Pont de Saint-Cloud (west) to Gare d'Austerlitz station (east).

Boulogne- Pont de Saint Cloud station is located on the town of Boulogne whereas Gare d'Austerlitz is on the boundary of the 5th and 13th arrondissements of Paris.

The whole trip  from west to east lasts 28 minutes from west to east and 29 minutes in the other way.

The first departures from west occurs at 5:30am from Porte d'Auteuil and at 5:35 from Boulogne-Pont de Saint-Cloud.
In the other direction, the first departure occurs at 5:30am from the principal terminus of the Paris metro line 10 (there is only 1 first departure of the Paris subway line 10 for this direction).

The last departures (for the entire journey) to Gare d'Austerlitz is at 00:47am and to Boulogne is at 00:41am.
However on the following nights (friday-saturday, saturday-sunday and the night before holidays-holiday) the last departures occur 1 hour later.

The frequency is around 7 minutes before 7:30am, from 7:30am until 8:30pm, it's around 4-5 minutes, and after 8:30pm the frequency reaches 9 minutes, for the week.
For the week-end, the frequency is less depending on the hours, and can reach 10 minutes on friday-saturday night, saturday-sunday night and the night before holidays-holiday.

Ségur station is closed to the UNESCO.
Odéon station allows you to go to the Palais and Jardin du Luxembourg.
The Gare d'Austerlitz is one of the terminus of the Paris metro line 10.

Paris metro-M9

The Paris metro line 9 links from Pont de Sèvres (west) to Mairie de Montreuil (east). Pont de Sèvres is located in the town of Boulogne-Billancourt whereas Mairie de Montreuil is in the town of Montreuil, those two towns are in the Parisian suburb.

The journey trip lasts around 50 minutes between those two terminus.
The first departures (4 stations) from west to east occur at 5:30am (Pont de Sèvres), at 5:30am (Porte Saint-Cloud), at 5:35am (Havre-Caumartin), and at 5:42am (Porte de Montreuil).
The first departures (4 stations) from east to west occur at 5:25am (Mairie de Montreuil), at 5:26am (Porte de Montreuil), at 5:26am (Nation) and at 5:49 (Porte Saint-Cloud).

The last departure, for the entire journey, at Pont de Sèvres station occurs at 00:26am, as well as from Mairie de Montreuil station  to Pont de Sèvres station.

On friday-saturday, saturday-sunday and the night before holidays-holiday the last departures, for the  whole journey, occurs at 01:26am for the 2 major terminus.

Paris metro-M8

The Paris metro line 8 connects Balard (west) to Créteil-Préfecture (east). Balard is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris whereas Créteil-Préfecture is located in the town of Créteil.

It's a journey trip of around 52 minutes.
2 first circulations occur from west to east, you have a first departure from Balard at 5:30am and one departure at République at 5:37am direction Créteil-Préfecture.
From east to west, 3 first circulations occur, at Créteil-Préfecture (5:30am), Maisons-Alfort - Les Juilliottes (5:28am) and République (5:39am).

The last departures for the Paris metro line 8 from west to east are at 00:24am (terminus at Créteil-Préfecture station), at 00:29am (terminus at Maisons-Alfort - Les Juilliottes station), at 00:53am (terminus Republique).
The last departure from east to west is at 00:24am (terminus Balard) and at 00:45am (terminus République).

Paris metro line 7 bis

The Paris metro 7 bis serves the 10th and 19th arrondissement of Paris, with 6 stations located on the 19th, one station is on the boundary of the 10th and 19th and 1 is located in the 10th.

It links Louis Blanc station (west) to Pré Saint- Gervais station (east), the line 7bis only serves a total of 8 stations.

The journey lasts 9 minutes from west to east and 8 minutes for the other way. A first departure occurs
at 5:31am from Pré-Saint-Gervais and at 5:43am from Louis Blanc station.
The last departures
of the Paris metro line 7bis occurs at 00:13am (Place des fêtes), at 00:06am (Louis Blanc) and at 11:56pm (from Pré-Saint Gervais), for the week and until december 2011.
On friday-saturday night, on saturday-sunday night, as well as on public holidays (between the night before the holiday and the holiday day) and for August 2011, the Paris subway line is opened after those hours.
 

The frequency for the week, is 7 minutes before 7:30am, between 7:30am and 8:30pm it's 5 minutes and after this hour it's around 8 minutes, and for the week-end the frequency is around 7-10 minutes.

Paris metro-M6

The Paris metro line 6 links Charles de Gaulle-Etoile (east) to Nation (west). Charles de Gaulle-Etoile is on the boundary of 3 districts, the 8th, 16th and 17th. Nation station, on the west, is on the boundary of the 11th and 12th.

To go to Nation, it's a 34 minute journey and it's a 33 minute journey  to go from Nation to Cdg-Etoile.
The first departures occur at 5:30 from the 2 terminus, and a second circulation starts at 5:30 at Place d'Italie direction CDG-Etoile. Those 3 first departures occur at 5:30am every day of the week.

When you use the M6, you have to go through 28 stations located for the most part in the 16th, 15th, 14th, 13th, 12th districts of Paris.
The last departures of the Paris metro line 6 are at 00:41am from east and 00:42am from west, the metros reach their terminus at 1:15am. On friday-saturday night, on saturday-sunday night, as well as on public holidays (between the night before the holiday and the holiday day), the last departures are at 1:42am (from CDG-Etoile) and 1:44am (from Nation).

The metro runs  every 4-5 before 7:30am, between 7:30am and 8:30pm the frequency is 2-4 minutes and after 8:30pm every 7-8 minutes, during the week. The frequency decreases during the week-end (for the same slot).

There are plenty of touristic attractions throughout the Paris metro line 6.

The Bir Hakeim station allows you to visit the Tower Eiffel.
At the Trocadéro station you can visit the Jardin du Trocadéro.

Paris metro-M4

The Paris metro M4 links Porte de Clignancourt (north) to Porte d'Orléans (south). Porte de Clignancourt is located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris whereas Porte d'Orléans is located in the 14th arrondissement.

To go from the north to the south, it's a 28 minute journey and from the south to the north it's a 29 minute journey.
You have two first departures from the north to the south and also two first departures from the south to the north.
The first departures from the north to the south goes from Porte de Clignancourt and Gare du Nord, the first one at 5:30am (Porte de Clignancourt) the second one at 5:31am (Gare du Nord).
From the south to the north, you have also two circulations, one departure from Porte d'Orléans at 5:30am and one from Montparnasse-Bienvenüe at 5:33am.

The last departures of the Paris metro line 4 are at 00:47am from Porte de Clignancourt to Porte d'Orléans and also at 00:47am from Porte d'Orléans to Porte de Clignancourt.

Paris Metro-M3bis

The Paris metro line M3bis goes from/ Porte des Lilas (east) to/from Gambetta (west).

The line M3 is the shortest line of the subway network , its length is 1,3kms around 0.80 miles. It has only 4 stations, from west to east you have Porte des Lilas, Saint-Fargeau, Pelleport and Gambetta, the journey lasts around 4 minutes between the 2 terminus.
The stations are located in the 20th district of Paris, although Porte des Lilas straddles two districts, the 19th and 20th.


Last departure and frequency.
The Paris metro M3bis leaves Porte des Lilas at 5:27am and leaves Gambetta at 5:32am.
The last departures are at 1:04am at Porte des Lilas and 1:11am at Gambetta, for the week.
However on friday-saturday night, on saturday-sunday night, as well as on public holidays (between the night before the holiday and the holiday day) the last departures are at 2:05am from Porte des Lilas and 2:11am from Gambetta. 

The frequency is around 4-5 minutes before 8:30pm and after 8:30pm it's around 8-9 minutes.
On friday-saturday night, on saturday-sunday night, as well as on public holidays (between the night before the holiday and the holiday day), the frequency can reach 10 minutes.

You can visit the ''Cimetière du Père Lachaise'' at the Gambetta station (you will have to walk a little bit) if you plan to visit Paris by metro.

The Paris metro line 3 connects Pont de Levallois-Bécon (west) station to Galliéni (east) station.
Pont de Levallois-Bécon station is located in the town of Levallois-Péret whereas Galliéni station is located in the town of Bagnolet.

The entire trip lasts 31 minutes from west to east and 30 minutes from east to west.
From east to west, you have two first departures, 1 from Galliéni  and the other from Gambetta at 5:30 am, as well as one departure from Pont de Levallois-Bécon at 5:30 am (to east).

Last departures from the two subways terminus Pont de Levallois-Bécon and Galliéni
-from west to east ( Pont de Levallois-Bécon to Galliéni) the last departure is at 0:44am.
-from east to west (Galliéni to Pont de Levallois-Bécon) the last departure is at 0:45am.
 The 2 subways stop at their respective terminus at 1:15am.

However on friday-saturday night, on saturday-sunday night, as well as on public holidays (between the night before the holiday and the holiday day), the last departures are at 1:44am direction Galliéni and 1:45am direction Pont de Levallois-Bécon.The 2 Paris subways stop at their respective terminus at 2:15am.

The frequency of the subway line 3 depends on the hour of the day.
The frequency is higher during the day from monday to friday, in rush hours you have subways every 3-4 minutes, and can reach 10 minutes on friday-saturday night, on saturday-sunday night, as well as on public holidays (between the night before the holiday and the holiday day).
The frequency for the week-end are:
-On Saturday and between 7:30am- 8:30pm, 5-6 minutes.
-On Sunday and between 7:30am- 8:30pm, 6-9 minutes.

The Réaumur -sébastopol station allows you to go and visit the ''Musée des arts et métiers'' in the 3rd district of Paris.
République station allows you to go to ''Place de la République'' and the ''Boulevard magenta''.
Opéra is the station of the Opéra Garnier, and Père Lachaise or Gambetta station allows you to visit the Père Lachaise cemetery.

The Paris metro line 2 connects Porte Dauphine (west) to Nation (east) station.
Porte Dauphine is located on the 16th district of Paris, Nation is located on the boundary of the 11th and 12th district.

The trip between those two terminus lasts around 33 minutes from Porte Dauphine to Nation and 35 minutes from Nation to Porte Dauphine.

The first departures occurs:
-from west to east, at 5:30am from Porte Dauphine, at 5:30am from Charles-de-Gaulle- Etoile, at 5:32 from Place de Clichy.
-from east to west, at 5:30am from Nation, at 5:34 from Jaurès, at 5:37am from Belleville.


The last subway leaves Porte Dauphine to Nation at 00:42am, and leaves Nation to Porte Dauphine at 0:40am, during the week.

Paris by metro- M1

The goal of this post ''Paris by metro'' is to guide you in the process to use the Paris metro. It won't be exhaustive but quite interesting for somebody who feels overwhelmed by the complexity of the Paris subway.  The Paris metro line 1 is the most used subway line in Paris.
The line 1 connects the Défense (west) and Château de Vincennes  (east), it's a trip of 35 minutes between those two stations.
From west to east, there are two departures at 5:30 am (from Porte de Maillot and from la Défense-Grande Arche), from east to west there are also two departures, 1 from  Château de Vincennes at 5:30 am, the second one from Gare de Lyon at 5:35 am.
The last departures are at 00:40 from the two major terminus except for the following nights (friday-saturday, saturday-sunday, days before public holidays-public holidays, the last departures from the two terminus are at 1:40am.

The frequency can be between 2 to 10 minutes:
-In rush hours for the week, you have subways every 2-3 minutes. After 8:30pm, the frequency 7 minutes.
-The frequency is less on Saturday, Sunday, and on some nights (between friday-saturday, saturday-sunday, days before public holidays-public holidays nights) and can reach 10 minutes, depending on the hours. However on Saturday and Sunday, the frequency between 9:30am and 8:30pm is around 4-5 minutes (during the week, it's 3 minutes).

If you plan to visit Paris by metro, you can go to the district of the Défense by ''la Défense-Grande Arche'' or ''l'Esplanade de la Défense'', by using this line, they are the first stations from the east of this line. The Défense is the business district, located in the Parisian suburb. This district holds the distinction of having sixty arts  recognizable by their gigantism.


The sablons station  allows you to go to the ''Jardin d'acclimatation'', a 19 hectare park.
Porte maillot station is this one which allows you to go to the ''Palais des congrès''.
You can also go to the ''Avenue des Champs-Elysées'' (Concorde, Champs-Elysées-Clémenceau, Franklin D.Roosevelt, Georges V, Charles-de-Gaulle - Etoile), la ''Rue de Rivoli'' (first district), or the ''Gare de Lyon'' by this line. 
At the bastille station you can visit the ''Place de la Bastille'' as well as the ''Opera Bastille''.
In addition to those places, the Paris metro line 1 serves several other touristics area (Tuileries, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe du Carroussel, Place de la Nation, Grand Palais, Petit Palais, Palais de la Découverte, Place de la Concorde, the ''Marais'', as well as the ''Château de Vincennes''.
Those places are the most known places that you can visit by using the Paris metro line 1.
